Rename Tags with Account

The video explains how  to rename the tags with part of the account name they are in created.

Order tags: Tag Sequence Arranger

After renaming tags not are order any more

We use a add-on for ordering the tag.

Order:

• Account Name alphabetically
• Tag Name

Working Version: Only until Version 59.7

When we use this plugin, we must start version 59.1.

• Go to Manage Tags Options
• Buttons for:
• Up
• Down
• Top
• Bottom
• Operations: Export, Import
• Must exist on the right side
• These buttons helps for moving up and down selected Tags

Downloaded the xpi file and modified to mark it compatible with Thunderbird 60+; it works perfectly!!

Two Tags are not allowed

We have two tags for one single  mail. Our tags should be more specific.

1) list of mails with dual tags

The actual also includes mails without a tag.

We use this saved search for finding the cleanup-candidates.

2) Update message filters

• Add/update message filter that makes sure that there is only a single tag assigned to keyword.

Example:
A) Sync.com is only in message filter for Cloud, but not in filter for important services.
B) Godaddy is only in message filter for Domain, but not in Team filter

3) Remove dual tags from mail

We must first remove one tag. Team does not know which one to remove.

1. Manually remove all tags from Folder
2. Run message rules on the folder

Result:

• There is only one tag for this mail.

No Tag Saved Search

• Create in each Private mails No Tag Saved Search Folder
• — Search Criteria —
• Tags:is empty
• Operator: “Is Empty”
• This will search for mails without any tag
• — Folders: —
• All subfolders of this account (incl. inbox) –> Saved Search them All
• (excl. Spam, Trash)

Export and Import Tags

Have to import Tags to be sure they are the latest Tags.

We also use the tag sequence arranger.

Physical Mail Folders and Tags

We use for each normal (physical) mail folder exactly one tag.

Maybe you need to create the same tags in all accounts (or via custom tags) You will see that when you execute the rules Decided:
