1) Related Reference (Rule 1)
The Related Reference is the CS internal reference, so is the primary field for rule 1 matching.
For a rule 1 match, the following fields have to match

For stock this is populated with the quantity, and has no tolerance |

| ISIN | Optional | Can be missing on either or both sides, but if populated on both it must match exactly |
| Date | Optional | Can be missing on either or both sides, but if populated on both it must match exactly
This would be value date for cash, but is not populated currently for stock |
2) Transaction Reference (Rule 2)
The transaction reference is the external party reference, which will generally not match against an internal, but allows statements to be matched to intraday advices.

3) Counterparty (Rule 3)
The counterparty rule checks the counterparty in addition to the basic attribute fields. In future (V6 hopefully) this will also allow multiple matches on a first-come-first-served basis (i.e. a fulfilment will be matched against the first available obligation in the match if one is available)

Matching Rules SLW
SLW compares key attributes to make sure the SLW transaction identified is the one relevant for the Settlement confirmation.
This is a pure attribute check. Internal or external references are not checked.
