Changing domain

Changing a domain is not a easy process. We should follow strictly the steps from these pages and then the steps from the page below.

1. Setup the dns settings

3. Check if the import size can be reduced (duplicate images)

4. Installing subdomains and backup buddy export import

6. Then do additional steps after domain change.

Changes before and after go-live

A site domain change shortly before a Google Go-Live, requires particular attention.

Remember that we did

Before Live-date:

1) Decide about permalink structure

2) Hidden Back-end

3) Disable Comments

4) Enable Google Indexing
At live -Date

Enable StopWords Plugin, Generate Sitemap, Disable Password Protection, Ping SiteMap

After Live-Date:

Check Google Search Console for problems

1) Setup Cron

2) Change Site Title

Then we need to change the site title via Settings -> General

3) CDN

Creating a new zone in KeyCDN and migrating the site to use the new zone.

The process is similar with every different CDN provider like CDNSUN etc.

4) Webmaster Tool

Then we need to add the new domain into Google Web Master Tool

5) Analytics

Then we need to add the site into Google Analytics and change the script into the site.

6) Economicblogs.org – Homepage

Then we need to change some links into Page Bulder on Homepage on the Economicblogs.org site.

7) All blogs – Menus

Then we must change all the links from the rest blogs to the new ones. We are editing all the blogs menus.
